Mrs. Eileen R. (Michael) Guercia, age 86 of Cliff Drive, Bristol, died Friday, April 29, 2016 at St. Elizabeth’s Manor, Bristol surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Nicola “Nick” Guercia, her husband of 54 years who died in 2000. Born and raised in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Mary E. (Grace) Frey. A resident of Bristol for most of her life, Eileen was a homemaker, and was active for many years in the Bristol County Lions Club, with her late husband. She was an active volunteer for both the March of Dimes and the Miriam Hospital in Providence.
She is survived by two children; Robin M. Perry (Tom) and Nick R. Guercia (Lisa), both of Bristol, four grandchildren, Nikolas Hanuschak, Nicole Bahrenburg (Karl), Melissa Benner (Sean) and Cassandra Guercia, four great grandchildren, Tori, Nikolas, Kayla and Riley Hanuschak. In addition to her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert N. and Richard G. Guercia, a grandson, Erik Hanuschak, and two brothers, William J. Michael and Thomas J. Crohan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
