Allan W. Young, 70, of Foxborough, Mass., and formerly of Barrington and Seekonk, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018. He was the loving and devoted husband of Jill M. Young for 25 years. Born in Brockton, Mass., Allan was the son of the late William and Natalie Young of Carver, Mass. and brother to Leta Johnson of Carver, Mass. and Rene Fraccalossi of Middleboro, Mass.
Mr. Young was a veteran of the United States Army serving with the 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One) and the 1st Air Cavalry in Vietnam. Mr. Young was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal (3 Bronze Service Stars); National Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Bronze Star Medal; Army Commendation Medal.
Allan retired from the Barrington Police Department of 25 years and from the Pawtucket Boys and Girls Club of 13 years. He was the director of the Police Athletic League (PAL), and later athletic director and director of operations for the Pawtucket Boys and Girls Club.
Besides his loving wife, Jill, Allan is survived by his beloved daughter, Rebecca A. Graveline and her husband Jason Graveline of Barrington, his two sons, Andrew A. Young of Scotch Plains, NJ and Brandon A. Young of Attleboro, Mass., stepdaughter Jennifer Amendolara and her husband Andrew Elmore of Annapolis, Md., stepson Jason Amendolara and his wife Susan Amendolara of Barrington. Allan is also survived by his adored 7 grandchildren — Morgan, Aidan, Dylan, Marley, Riley, Sage and Reese, and his 4 adored step grandchildren – Max, Jane, Graham, and Geleta.
