EAST PROVIDENCE — East Providence Police provided some detail on a fatal car accident in the early morning of Wednesday, March 27, which took the life of the lone occupant.

In a press release authored by EPPD Detective Lieutenant Raymond Blinn and co-signed by Acting Chief William Nebus, the crash took place at approximately 2:40 a.m. Wednesday on the southbound lane at the intersection of the East Shore Expressway and Interstate 195 approaching the Wampanoag Trail.

Lt. Blinn wrote the preliminary investigation shows that the crash involved a single motor vehicle and was being operated by an unrestrained male at the time of the accident. He was the only person in the vehicle. It has been determined the operator was ejected from the vehicle upon impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased’s body was turned over to the office of the State Medical Examiner's Office.

As of early Wednesday afternoon, police have declined to identify the man nor have the determining factors for the accident been offered up either by law enforcement.
