Letter: Dishonest media got it wrong on Trump press conference
To the editor:
The Friday, Feb. 17 Providence Journal front-page article entitled "Furious Tirade” seemingly reported on the previous day's presidential press conference, but they got it wrong again.
I watched the press conference and saw it quite differently. Whomever wrote the story for the Associated Press (of course), dutifully continued the media's favorite tactic — mistaking the facts.
What I saw was an American president communicating with his fellow citizens regarding our countries concerns, opportunities and reality, with humor, candor and a healthy, well-deserved mistrust of the media.
As an American, it is discouraging how the Providence Journal and the Associated Press, apparently driven by contempt and hatred for our president, has arrived at a place in history where they feel comfortable repeatedly misleading the American people.
The media, which is supposed to be a watchdog, now needs one!
America deserves better.
