The Warren Police Department announced via a press release on Friday afternoon that a 76-year-old patient at Crestwood Nursing & Rehabilitation in Warren was arrested following an incident that occurred Thursday and resulted in the death of another 81-year-old patient at the care facility.

Although police were not releasing the name of the deceased at this time, court records show that the defendant is Robert Hill.

The full press release can be read below:

"On April 27, 2023 at 10:11 p.m., Warren Police Department officers were dispatched to Crestwood Nursing & Rehabilitation for a report of a sudden death of a male patient.

Upon officers arriving on scene, officers spoke with employees who reported an incident had just taken place which resulted in the death of a male patient (Age: 81 years old). Employees also reported that another male patient (Age: 76 years old) had been separated from the deceased male following the incident and remained on scene.

Warren Police Detectives, working alongside the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, responded to the scene and conducted an investigation of the incident. As a result of this investigation, the 76-year-old male patient has been charged with one count of first degree murder. The defendant was later transported to Sixth District Court where he was arraigned on this charge and was held without bail.
