Annmary Holt, 85, Providence

Annmary (Church) Holt, 85, of Providence, passed away on Sept. 20.   

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Hezekiah and Marie (DeAlvarez) Church. She is survived by her son, Robert Holt and his wife Diane of Bristol; grandchildren Julie L. DeSantis of New Jersey, and Rachael A. Holt of Bristol; and great grandson Alexander DeSantis of New Jersey.

Annmary was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School and the Katherine Gibbs School. She worked as a legal secretary for LaSalle & McElroy for 43 years before retiring. 

Her funeral services were held Sept. 27 from the George Lima Funeral Home with a Service of Thanksgiving for Annmary’s Life celebrated by The Rev. Canon Elizabeth Habecker at St. Michael’s Church. Burial followed in Juniper Hill Cemetery.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
