Colby-Sawyer junior Denali Sexton, of Barrington, has been named to the 2016 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Men’s Soccer First Team.

Earlier this year, Sexton was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Year. The junior led the eighth most potent offense in the country (3.17 goals per game) with 33 points on 15 goals and three assists. Three of his goals were game-winners including one in a 2-1 victory over second seed Castleton.

Sexton once again ranked among the top players in the nation. He finished 30th with 15 goals, 43rd in total points (33), 27th in goals per game (.83) and 41st in points per game (1.83).

Twice this season Sexton tallied hat-tricks — in wins over Pine Manor and Lyndon, Sexton scored three goals and tallied single assists.

He has scored at least 30 points in each of his three seasons and is the Colby-Sawyer men’s soccer programs all-time leader in career points (112) and goals (45) and is second in career assists to senior teammate Andrew Clothier (Matamata, New Zealand).

In 2014, Sexton became the first Charger to be named ECAC Co-Rookie of the Year.

Sexton was also recently named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-New England Region third team as announced by the association. Sexton earns his second straight nod to the NSCAA third team and becomes the second Colby-Sawyer men’s soccer player earn multiple NSCAA awards.
