Barrington firefighters rushed to a car fire on Hancock Road on Tuesday morning, June 21, after a resident spotted a car engulfed in smoke and flames.
When crews arrived on the scene, flames billowed out from under the hood of the black Pontiac G6 and smoke filled the air. Firefighters worked quickly to knock down the fire, but photos of the car show that it was badly damaged during the blaze.
Police officers spoke to the vehicle's owner, who said nothing appeared to be wrong with the car when she parked it on the street earlier. Officials believe the fire may have been sparked by an electrical issue.
