The Bristol Police Department responded to the following calls between Nov. 21 and Nov. 27:

Monday, Nov. 21

Police responded to an argument between a man and a woman join a driveway on First Street at 7:45 a.m. There was a report filed, but no arrest made.

An unknown man was banging on the rear door of a house on First Street around 6 p.m. Rescue was requested to evaluate the man.

Tuesday, Nov. 22

A man in a blue pickup truck was reportedly removing recyclables from bins belonging to the town at Thames and John streets around 8 a.m. He was gone when police arrived.

Officers responded to a call from a woman on Franklin Street complaining that her husband is threatening to harm her. There was no arrest, but police filed a report.

Police responded to several “suspicious activity” calls at Town Beach, on Hopeworth Avenue, Poppasquash Road and Hydraulion Avenue, dispersing the offending parties in all cases.

Wednesday, Nov. 23

A resident near Gooding Plaza at Gooding Avenue and Hope Street complained of noise coming from a tractor trailer truck in the plaza at 3 a.m. Officers advised the driver to park elsewhere.

A resident on Poppasqash Road reported hearing gunshots in the area at 6:30 a.m., possibly from hunters.

A man with a black pickup truck was reportedly trying to break into a home on Sowams Drive by kicking in the side door at 9 a.m. Police investigated, finding the man worked for the bank that owns the foreclosed property and was authorized to be on the property.

Two carpets were illegally dumped at Narrows Point.

A group of juveniles reportedly damaged fencing along the East Bay Bike Path near Sip & Dip on Hope Street.

Thursday, Nov. 24

A resident on Charlotte Drive called police because a cat was reportedly stuck in a couch. Police responded to the feline emergency, but the cat emerged before they arrived.

A resident on Dimond Drive reported that “someone has placed a basketball court on her property.” It was actually a portable basketball hoop that a neighbor removed.

A resident on Metacom Avenue called police because someone was knocking on the front door around 6:30 p.m. There was no issue.

Friday, Nov. 25

Police responded to reports that a resident on Brookwood Road was putting his trash cans on his neighbor’s lawn. Officers filed a report.

A report of a suspicious man standing on State Street at 9 a.m. turned out to be a man waiting for a bus.

Mail was reportedly stolen from a home on Francis Street.

A man and woman were reportedly arguing inside a truck on Magnolia Street at 6:30 p.m. There was no police action required.

A group of people were running through yards on Scott Lane and Rosedale Drive around 10:30 p.m. They were trying to capture a loose dog.

Saturday, Nov. 26

A caller reported a dark colored Audi driving recklessly northbound on Hope Street around Chestnut Street around 12:30 a.m. Officers caught up with the car on Hope Street near Terrace Drive.

A customer was reportedly refusing to pay for gas he had pumped at the Shell on Metacom Avenue just after 1 a.m., but decided to pay up before police arrived.

Sunday, Nov. 27

Police dispersed a group of residents reportedly being loud at Addy and June drives just after 1:30 a.m.

A Rite Aid employee reported finding an interior door to the store partially open just before 2 a.m. Officers investigated the building, finding it to be secure, and the store’s key holder responded.

Two juvenile boys were reportedly vandalizing the East Bay Bike Path and throwing wood onto Asylum Road at 2:30 p.m. The boys were gone when police arrived, and they could find no evidence of vandalism.

Officers assisted with a custody exchange in the police department headquarters.
