PORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports from over the past week.

Wednesday, Feb. 1

A 16-year-old male resident of Boys Town was charged at 8:33 p.m. with assault after he went AWOL from one of the campus vehicles earlier in the day. According to police, the boy was in the vehicle on the way back from school when he assaulted the driver (a staff member of Boys Town), then exited the vehicle and ran from the scene. Staff members were called to the scene but they lost sight of the boy in the area of East Main Road and Sprague Street, police said.

Friday, Feb. 3

Amy M. Leeming, 38, of East Freetown, Mass., was charged at about 11 a.m. with domestic assault. The charge stemmed from an incident first reported on Dec. 31, when a 41-year-old man told police that Ms. Leeming had punched and scratched him during an argument both inside and outside a car they were riding in on Route 24 North near Boyd’s Lane. Ms. Leeming wasn’t on the scene when police arrived, so they issued a warrant and she was arrested by Capitol Police Feb. 3 at 2nd District Court in Newport, according to police.

Sunday, Feb. 5

Theresa A. Schultz, 60, of 2743 East Main Road (first floor), was arrested at her home at 12:50 a.m. on a charge of domestic assault. A 32-year-old Portsmouth woman told police that Ms. Schultz had been arguing loudly with a man regarding a bill and tried to slap him. Ms. Schultz then punched the woman, who defended herself by bloodying the suspect’s lip, according to police, who said her story was backed up by a video the man had shot. The Department of Children, Youth and Families was notified because four children were living there and the home’s condition was unhealthy, police said. There were used diapers on the floor, no crib for the baby, no sheets on the bed and a cat’s little box overflowing with feces, according to police. It was determined that Ms. Schultz had violated her probation and she was transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston before her arraignment on Monday.

Danette R. McManus, 52, of 115 Col. Christopher Greene Road, was charged with domestic assault at 3:32 a.m. at her home. Ms. McManus poked a 51-year-old local man in the chin with a walking cane, the victim told police, who noted the man’s chin was red and irritated. Police said they’ve responded to the address nine times over the previous six months for reports of verbal altercations.

Jesse B. Urban, 31, of 563 Woodman St., Fall River, was arrested just before 10 a.m. on a warrant on a charge out of Middletown, following a minor car accident on West Main Road near Locust Avenue. Mr. Urban, one of the operators, was also issued a summons for failure to maintain control of his vehicle and operating a vehicle without proof of insurance.
