Door decorating contest winners announced

Four elaborately decorated homes and three businesses in Bristol are among the most spirited in town, deemed winners of this year’s Door Decorating Contest.

The home at 165 Wood St. took home the top prize, followed by 119 Fatima St., 14 Franklin St. and 9 Francine St. Business winners include A.N. Nunes Agency Inc. at 549 Hope Street, Melo Shoe Repair at 339 Wood Str., and the Cake Gallery at 555 Hope St.

Contest entries were judged Saturday afternoon, and the winners were announced during the annual Snowflake Raffle Sunday night.

To be eligible for the contest hosted by the Bristol Merchants Association, each entry had to include one of five themes: 

  • Traditional-Victorian 
  • North Pole Fun 
  • The First Christmas 
  • Melodies of Christmas 
  • Classic Christmas Movies and Television
