Edward E. Lind, 85, Bristol

Edward E. Lind, 85 of Sea Breeze Lane, Bristol, passed away June 28, 2016. He was the husband of 64 years to Claire (Durand) Lind and son of the late Eric and Mabel (Moehle) Lind.
Edward was president and chief operating officer for the former Eastland Bank. He was also a Marine Veteran of the Korean War and enjoyed golfing, reading and growing tomatoes.
He was the father of Gary Lind and his wife Lois, and Meg DeSilva and her husband Bob; grandfather of three; great grandfather of one; and brother of Virginia Lind and the late William, and Robert Lind and Barbara Lamarre.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward’s memory to Hematology & Oncology Assoc., 1220 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, RI 02920.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
