Fahim M. Nady, DVM, 72, of Westport, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at home after a brief illness. Born in Egypt, son of the late Mohammed El and Saadia (Samk) Nady, he lived in Egypt for many years until moving to the Westport area in the 1970's.
He was a graduate of University of Cairo, Egypt, in 1965. He was the owner and operator of Westport Animal Hospital, where he was a well respected and dedicated veterinarian in the community. In his spare time Fahim enjoyed working in his yard, especially gardening.
Survivors include his companion, Joan Harb of Westport; brothers and sisters, Mustapha, Mohammed, Basmir, Freida, Tareke and Khaleb, all of Egypt; his extended family, Carol Baptista of New Bedford and Lynne C. Barker and her husband Randal of New Bedford and their children, Lauren, Kaleigh and Reed; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was brother of the late Ali.
In accordance with Dr. Nady's wishes, services will be private.
