To the editor:

On behalf of the band Abbey Rhode, I want to express our deepest thanks to our many friends and fans for their steadfast support over the past 12 years. It is now time for us to bring the band to an end.

Our goal was to bring to life the phenomenal music of The Beatles without gimmicks, costumes or fake accents and play it live with a foursome. We hope we succeeded in creating a high-quality, authentic musical experience for listeners.  

Audiences both young and old gave us great encouragement as we gigged all over Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York. We lent our hand in raising finds to build playgrounds, install fire alarms, celebrate birthdays like Portsmouth’s 375th, help the homeless shelters, Visiting Nurses, and helped with the effort to build a new police station in Portsmouth and many other worthy efforts, and played from Billy Goodes — who gave us our start — to the steps of the Rhode Island capitol building. Thank you all for helping us fulfill our dream of playing this life-changing music! 

We hope you can join us for our last show on Thanksgiving weekend, Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Sandywoods Center for the Arts in Tiverton. Doors open at 7 and the concert is from 7:30-10. Let’s celebrate the great music of John, Paul, George and Ringo this last time as a band in grand style and let us say thank you so very much.
