Letter: Thanks to Salve team for sharing softball skills

To the editor:

Portsmouth Softball (Little League) had two of the best softball clinics for our athletes with coach Jannelle Iaquinto (Salve Regina University’s new head softball coach) and her team, and they were all amazing!

The Salve girls all came with huge smiles and a ton of enthusiasm to coach and instruct all our softball participants, from instructional level up to our junior level.

The interaction and mentoring was huge. Programs/clinics like this will have an everlasting effect with the young girls starting out and when older, giving back.

It was great for the older ones, who were able to work specifically on an area they are trying to improve on for upcoming tryouts.

This is the second year that Salve has been involved with winter coaching and Portsmouth Softball is planning to attend a game in April to support and cheer on the Salve team.
