Little Compton Police: Dogs foiled in chicken coop attack

At 4:30 p.m., a Long Highway resident reported that two black labrador retrievers were attacking the owner’s chicken coop. The chickens were not harmed.

Police were called to a Butts Rock Road address for a nuisance report.

Thursday, March 2

Officers responded to Ocean Drive at 9:37 a.m. for complaints of unlawful parking by surfers.

Sunday, March 5

Caleb Steen, 31, of 219 Captain’s Circle, Tiverton, was stopped for a motor vehicle violation at 2:04 p.m. When it was learned that he had an active bench warrant, he was taken to the ACI pending arraignment.

From Thursday through Friday, four motorists were issued summonses for driving with suspended or expired licenses.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
