M. Luz Rego, 63, Bristol

M. Luz Rego, 63, of Peck Avenue, passed away on March 20. Born in Pico da Pedra, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Cabral Rego Jr and Maria da Luz (Soares) Rego.

Ms. Rego was a teacher at the Hennessy School in East Providence for 28 years before retiring. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality of St. Elizabeth Church and had a love for classical music. She played the piano and in her spare time gave piano lessons to young children from her home.

Her funeral services were held March 25 from the George Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Luis Garcia at St. Elizabeth Church. The liturgical readings were by Grant Costa and Dorothy Costa. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Erika Pinheiro. The offertory gifts were presented by Sally Pinheiro, Erika Pinheiro and Dorothy Costa. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.Serving as pallbearers were Rui Costa, John Carreiro, Norbert Soares, Joseph Soares and Manuel Soares. Memorial donations may be made to: Franciscan Missions, PO Box 130, Waterford, WI 53185-0130.
