Driver says woman driving DOT vehicle was throwing litter out the window

Posted

A motorist was driving south on the Wampanoag Trail on Friday, Sept. 16, when he reportedly spotted trash flying out the window of a RIDOT vehicle.

The motorist called Barrington police and reported the incident, stating that the DOT worker tossed an empty water bottle, soda can and half-eaten apple out the window of the truck. The motorist said some of the trash hit his car.

Police tracked down the DOT worker at the job site (the motorist had recorded the license plate number of the vehicle) and questioned her. The woman denied throwing trash out of the truck.
