Solitude and luxury — the perfect pairing for a get-away home.

This comfortable three bedroom, two bathroom home on Prudence Island has all the bells and whistles, nestled in natural surroundings. The property at 243 Bay Ave. has sweeping water views and can be used as a year-round or vacation home.

With nearly 4,000 square feet of living space, there is plenty of room for large gatherings on the popular summer vacation spot. Built in 1999, the home has outside, covered porches and open decks to maximize the water views.

The first floor offers a large master bedroom with a 16-foot cathedral ceiling, oversized his and hers closets, a sliding glass door to the front porch and a glass-paned door to a private rear deck with a five-person hot tub. The master bathroom also has a whirlpool tub, an original hand-painted sink depicting the house, and a fiberglass shower stall with multiple shower heads and a seat for long, hot showers.

Down the hall form the bedroom is a spacious home office with bookcases and windows overlooking the bay. Across from the master bedroom is an exercise room contained an 8-foot by 15-foot heated Endless Pool for swimming laps against the adjustable speed current. There is also a three-person electric sauna made of cedar, and a glass door connecting to the outdoor hot tub.

The kitchen, which includes a breakfast area with seating for six, faces out to the ocean and the forested conservation property that abuts the property across a stream in the backyard. The great room has an additional dining area and a cathedral ceiling.

The laundry area is conveniently located off the kitchen. Also on the first floor is a workshop where pumps and filters for the pool are located, along with an extra refrigerator and freezer, and controls for the propane-power, computer-controlled Generac whole home generator.

From the floor to the top of the cathedral ceiling rises the thermostatically-controlled stone propane fireplace with raised blue stone hearth. It is flanked by custom cabinetry, a disappearing TV and a surround sound system that can be played throughout the first floor.

On the second floor is a family room that looks down upon the great room. There are double French doors leading into a guest bedroom with a wall of windows on the west side. A small hall leads to a guest bathroom, a private meditation room and a dormitory-style room — a large room that can sleep five, with bunk beds.

Outside, wooden steps lead to the beach and an outdoor shower helps keep sand out of the house. A hidden storage shed houses enough propane to run the house for weeks.

The home is for sale by owner, but the sellers with pay a buyer's agent commission. It is available for the asking price of $975,000. For more information or to schedule a viewing contact Joel and Jane Maguire at 401-683-9660.
