Suzanne (Paull) Carter, 95,of Westport Point, Massachusetts, died at home on July 22, 2016. Wife of the late Lynn Carter of Westport, Mass. Born May 11, 1921, in Worcester to Merle Hastings Paull and Blanche Arlene (Leonard) and grew up in Barre, Mass..

She spent summers at Westport, before graduating from Barre High School and then attending Smith College.

She met her husband, Lynn, during a summer trip to California with college classmates. A devoted wife she moved with her husband almost twenty times as his military and business career led them throughout the United States. On each occasion she created a warm and loving home before returning to retire in her beloved Westport home.

A creative and energetic homemaker, she supported her husband’s career by becoming an elegant hostess, and was known for her extensive repertoire of hors d’oeuvres. In later years her family published a cookbook containing her favorite recipes.

Most of all, she was a constant source of affection and support to her family as a loving wife, devoteddaughter, dear sister, wonderful mother and adoring grandmother. She will be remembered as a woman of great charm and kindness to all. Her smile lit up a room.

Survivors include sons Lynn (Skip) Carter and his wife Pamela of Bedford, New Hampshire, Dr. David Carter and his wife Shirley of Rumford, and daughter Susanne Carter Peck and her husband Richard of Westport, Mass. Grandmother of nine, great-grandmother of six.

Memorial service, which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be Saturday, August 6, 2016, at the Westport Point United Methodist Church, Westport Point, at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following the service, the Carter family wishes to invite everyone to visit with them at Howland Hall.

Memorial calling hours will be on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, Mass. 02790 from 5-7 p[.m.

Interment will be private. Donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, Fla. 33607.
