Westport twins Ben and Jacob Cross (front) celebrate their 10th birthday with friends, many of whom attend Westport Elementary School. The boys agreed this year that, instead of gifts, they would ask their friends to make a donation to the Westport Council on Aging — the result was a combined gift to the council for $500. They said they were motivated by the fact that they are fortunate to have two sets of living grandparents who are over the age of 85.
