Zulmira Maiato, 88, Bristol

Zulmira “Myra” (Silva) Maiato, 88, of Bristol, passed away on March 6, 2017 at Silver Creek Manor. She was the wife of the late Edmund C. Maiato.  

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Firmino and Elvira (Cunha) Silva. She is survived by her children, Joseph Maiato and his wife Dawn, Barbara Tillou and her husband Gary, Susan Proulx and her husband Bob, and Edmund Maiato and his wife Ruth. She was the grandmother of Lindsey Maiato, Joseph Maiato, Patrick Maiato, Kayla Maiato, Brittany Pereira, Jeffrey Andrade, Matthew Maiato, Kathryn Maiato, Andrew Maiato, Emily Maiato, Jason Proulx, Jennie Friese, Gary Tillou Jr; and great grandmother of Kaiden Maiato, Jaden Tillou, Jack Friese, Jamie Friese, Penelope Proulx, Aiden Proulx and Quinn Proulx. She was the sister of the late Margaret Silva.

Mrs. Maiato was a graduate of Pawtucket West High School and Katherine Gibbs. She was a secretary for the Bristol School Department for 20 years before retiring.

Her funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11, 10 a.m., from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours are Friday 5-8 p.m.
