'A Horrific Night Out' – A night of scary storytelling

Posted

The Collaborative, a Warren-based nonprofit arts organization, will be holding their annual Halloween storytelling night, "A Horrific Night Out - Scary Storytelling," a free event scheduled for Friday, Oct. 28, from 8 to 10 p.m. at The Collaborative Studio: 4 Market St., Warren, R.I.

The year’s event will be hosted by Eve Kerrigan, a teacher, editor, and writer of fiction and personal essays who has been working with the Collaborative, teaching multiple workshops in creative writing and participating in past storytelling events, for several years. The storytellers of the night will include many of Rhode Island’s most talented writers, sharing original stories or their favorite classics.

Readers, along with Kerrigan, will include Sally V. Turner, Janice O'Donnell, Daisy Eagan, Patrick May and Mel Rainsberger. Musicians Mark Dobbyn and Peri DeLorenzo, from local bands Bank of Ireland and The Whelks, will provide eerie music as well.

This is a free event, though donations for the performers will gladly be accepted. Refreshments will be available for purchase at arc{hive} book + snackery, the used bookstore bar sharing the space with The Collaborative.
