AMC horror series films in Barrington

Nayatt Point home and Rod's Grille serve as filming locations

Film crews were spotted in Barrington and Warren on Monday, Sept. 10.

The AMC crew, which was filming the horror series “NOS4A2,” set up outside of Rod's Grille in Warren early in the day. People crowded onto the street and the name of the popular Warren restaurant was changed temporarily to “Pedro Pascual’s Pizza Palace."

Later in the day, crews packed up and moved to Barrington, as filming continued at a home on Cedar Avenue. Nearby streets were lined with trucks and other production vehicles.

“NOS4A2” is based on the horror novel of the same name written by Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King, and like his father’s work, it is a horror tale and a new take on the classic vampire fable.

According to the Rhode Island Film Office and Warren Town Manager Kate Michaud, the majority of the shooting for the first season is taking place in Rhode Island. Crews will return to Warren in early October to shoot more scenes at the George Hail Library and the Warren Town Clerk’s Office. The shooting at town hall will necessitate the moving of some of the clerk’s duties to other parts of the building, but Ms. Michaud said that shouldn’t be a problem.

“We’ll shuffle people around,” she said.

“NOS4A2” is directed by Kari Skogland and will feature Virginia Kull, Ashleigh Cummings and others.
