Anthony Louis Cambrola

Army veteran enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, bird watching

Anthony Louis Cambrola, 85, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Miriam Hospital. Born in Warren, he was a son of the late Joseph and Cora (Bullock) Cembrola. He was the husband of the late Cynthia Denby Cambrola and the late Barbara Lombardi Cambrola.

He was a graduate of Warren High School and University of Rhode Island. He worked as an industrial engineer for Converse in Bristol for over 30 years and Sprague Metal in Providence. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict with the Army. He was a member of St Michael’s Church in Bristol. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, bird watching and was an avid Red Sox fan.

He leaves his children, Anthony K. Cambrola and his wife Robyn of Warren; Lisa Cambrola Allen of Milford, Conn.; Gail Cambrola Lee of Bristol; Karen Cambrola Myler and her husband Marty of New Port Richey, Fla.; and stepson Kent Servant of Warren. He was the brother of Howard Cambrola of Warren and the late Joseph V. Cembrola, Michael Cambrola, Henry Cembrola and Norma Wetherell. He was the grandfather of Christopher and Kerri Allen; Emily and Hayley Cambrola; Joshua Lee; and Max Myler.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. in St Michael’s Church, Hope Street, Bristol. Memorial donations may be made payable to George Hail Library, 530 Main St., Warren, RI 02885

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
