Barbara A. Tripp Carreiro, 91, Westport

Barbara A. Tripp Carreiro, 91, of Westport, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth.  Born in Westport, daughter of the late Isaac A. and Barbara (Manchester) Tripp, she was a lifelong resident of Westport.

Prior to retirement, she owned and operated Barbee Anne's Restaurant in Westport for 28 years.  Upon graduation, she worked for the U.S. Government in Westport for the Rationing Board. She was the first woman to serve on the Westport Finance Committee.

An avid Red Sox fan, she enjoyed gardening and collecting Beanie Babies.  She loved her pet dog Martini "Tini".  The family wishes to thank the staff of Brandon Woods and New England Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they provided.

Survivors include a loving daughter, Barbara A. Carreiro of Westport; four brothers, Isaac A. Tripp Jr. of Westport, Calvin F. Tripp of Westport, Wendell Tripp of Fall River and Randall Tripp of Fall River; three sisters, Ruth Norton of Rochester, NY, Eunice Durfee of Tiverton and June Hebert of Westport.  She was t hesister of the late Grover Tripp and Harvey Tripp.

Arrangements were held under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: New England Hospice, 190 Old Derby St., Suite 304, Hingham, MA 02043.
