A Barrington resident said his Cockatoo alerted him to a possible break-in on Saturday night, Nov. 21.
The Tanglewood Drive resident said he was inside his home watching television at about 9:30 p.m., when his bird started squawking; he said the bird only squawks when it sees an intruder.
The man decided to check the back of his house and reportedly saw someone trying to push open a back window. Once the alleged intruder noticed the homeowner, he reportedly fled on foot.
Police were unable to locate the suspect.
