Members of the Barrington High School boys' track team participated in the New England Championships at Reggie Lewis Arena in Boston last weekend and set two new school records in the process.
Barrington High School senior Mars Bishop broke his own record in the mile run while placing second in New England. Bishop finished the race with a time of 4:18.54.
Meanwhile, the quartet of Sam Read, George Wicker, Hayden Ivatts and Bishop set a new school record in the 4x400. The new time of 3:31.35 eclipsed the old mark set in 2010 by Ryan Gower, Marc DeSisto, Luke Imbusch and Ed Mercer.
Barrington's 4x800 meter relay team of Wicker, Jamie Gunness, Calvin Hennessey and Eli Mitnick also ran at New Englands, as did Eliot Laidlaw in the two-mile race.
