Eagles improve to 4-0 overall; Barrington plays EP on Wednesday night

The Barrington High School boys basketball team hit six three-pointers in the first quarter, jumped out to a 22-7 lead and never looked back on its way to an 88-56 victory over Central High School in the Eagles’ home opener on Monday night, Dec. 18.

The Eagles scored 22 points or more in three of the four quarters and had five players in double figures led by Nick Scandura and Matt Raffa who each scored 21 points. Owen Pfeffer had a career best 14 points. Ryan Rigamonti chipped in with 11 and Colin McDermott scored 10 points.

Lester Rodriguez had a game high 32 points for the Knights.

Barrington improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Division I league play.

The Eagles will travel to East Providence on Wednesday, Dec. 20th for a 6:30 p.m. tip-off.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
