Barrington 'fight club' teens charged with disorderly conduct

Police charged two Barrington boys — a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old — with disorderly conduct, after detectives completed an investigation into a local "fight club."

Someone shared with police a video of the two boys fighting against each other while a group of about 50 other local teenagers watched. Police said it appeared many of the witnesses were Barrington High School student-athletes.

The two teenagers who were fighting were wearing boxing gloves. Barrington Police Chief John LaCross said "This was a controlled fight, but it was also pretty brutal. The bottom line is, we don't want to see anyone get hurt."

The two teenagers are scheduled to appear before the town's juvenile hearing board.
