Station owner says employee was making false refunds

The owner of a Barrington gas station told police that an ex-employee had stolen more than $1,500 from the business. 

The business owner filed the complaint with Barrington police on Thursday, Nov. 9. It alleges that an ex-employee had been making false refunds and then using the money to purchase Keno lottery tickets. 

The business owner said the stolen money totals $1,595. 

Police are investigating.

The gas station is located on County Road.
