The town will celebrate the holiday season with the "Barrington Glows" event on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Barrington Glows will feature a full schedule of events, starting at 11:30 a.m. with the holiday Bingo luncheon and horse and wagon rides. The Bingo luncheon will be held at the Peck Center building and will continue until 1:30 p.m.

There will be a performance by a magician inside the public library auditorium from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m., and from 2:45 to 3:30 Ballet Prestige will offer a live performance inside the auditorium.

There will also be a number of fun holiday-themed activities taking place from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the school committee room (inside the town hall) — there will be an instant photo booth, holiday arts and crafts, face-painting, a raffle table and letters to Santa Claus.

Bluewater Bar and Grill and Red Brick School are offering food and refreshments from 2 to 5 p.m., and event organizers have also scheduled visits from the Haven Brothers food truck and the Mijos Tacos food truck.

Santa Claus will arrive outside the Barrington Town Hall at 4 p.m., and will be greeted with performances by Arts Alive! students and the Barrington Middle School a cappella chorus.

Barrington Town Council President Michael Carroll will offer welcoming remarks at about 4:45, and then, as the high school choral ensemble performs, officials will light the trees in front of the town hall. The tree lighting is expected to take place at 5 p.m.

In a fitting connection to the event's name, glow sticks will also be handed out to the children.

The Barrington Glows event is free and open to the public.
