The Advanced Placement chemistry students from Barrington High School competed in the annual URI Chemistry contest recently, and brought home the top team award and also swept the individual awards.

Barrington High School, comprised of team members Emma Marvelli, Stella Densley, Louise Marie Choi-Schattle, Yike Chen, Yiming Xiong, Helen Copple, Dawen Cheng and Sean Fearon, won the Joseph Waite Ince Award, which is given to the top team in the competition.

Barrington students also won the top individual awards: Louise Marie Choi-Schattle won first place, Sean Fearon brought home second place, and Dawen Cheng finished in third place.

Prizes are given to the top team and top three individuals in each division at the URI Chemistry contest; AP chemistry is Division II — students who have had more than one year of chemistry.
