Barrington Middle School boys cross country team is third at states

The Barrington Middle School boys cross country team finished third at the state championship meet at Ponaganset High School on Monday, Oct. 29.

Max LaRoche was Barrington's top finisher, crossing the line in 21st place with a time of 11:04.1 in the 1.9-mile race. Charlie Stockwell finished 29th and Colin Keough was 38th. Finn Myatt was Barrington's fourth finisher, placing 40th overall and Brandon Piedade was 56th overall.

The Barrington Middle School girls cross country team ran to an 11th place finish at states, led by Marie Choi-Schattle who crossed the line in 12th place. Dani Ceseretti was 46th overall, Clara Connelly was 93rd, Jane Bryant was 95th and Helena Defanti was 126th. 

The middle school boys JV team finished in first place in the JV state championship race. Myles Napolitano finished second, Will DiGiacomo was third and William Howard finished fifth overall. Corbin Vaughan and Max Bleakney rounded out Barrington's top five, finishing 11th and 12th, respectively.

The middle school girls JV team finished eighth at states. Lara Tolley finished 33rd, while Isobel Connelly was 42nd, Gianna Colonna was 53rd, Eva Garofano was 60th, and Laura Souza finished 66th. 

Eastern Division meet

Barrington's boys team finished first at the Eastern Division meet at Colt State Park earlier this month. Charlie Stockwell took first place overall, Max Laroche took sixth, Ben McDermott was seventh, Colin Keough was eighth, Finn Myatt was 10th, Alex McClelland was 16th and Gavin Lesk finished 40th.

Barrington's girls team also finished first at the Eastern Division meet. Marie Choi-Schattle took second place overall, followed by Dani Ceseretti in fourth, Hannah Labreche in sixth, Zoe Webster in ninth, Jane Bryant in 20th, Helena DeFanti in 22nd, and Clara Connelly in 24th.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
