Barrington Moms bring their message to statehouse

Several local women show their support for proposed gun control legislation

Posted

A number of Barrington residents who are members of the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, were at the Rhode Island Statehouse earlier this week showing their support for House Bill H5510 and Senate Bill S405.

The proposed legislation would prohibit dangerous domestic abusers from owning or possessing guns.

"We had about 100 people attend the press conference, then volunteers went on to the house or senate floors to talk with elected officials about this commonsense legislation," said Barrington resident Jennifer Boylan.

Several of the "Barrington Moms" spoke with Rep. Jason Knight, who serves District 67 in Barrington and Warren.
