Barrington High School graduate and Princeton University junior Adam Kelly won the hammer throw event at this year's Penn Relays.

Kelly, a state champion during his days at Barrington High School, threw the hammer 68.82 meters (225 feet, 9 inches) to capture the top spot at the prestigious college track event. Kelly has the second-best throw in Princeton history and the seventh-best throw in the NCAA this season.

At the Penn Relays, Kelly fouled on three attempts and had marks of 63.40 meters, 68.81 meters and 68.82 meters. He has a personal record of 71.92 meters this season.

Kelly was not the only former Eagle to shine at the Penn Relays. Mike Alvernaz, a classmate of Kelly's at Barrington High School, finished eighth in the weight throw event. Alvernaz is a standout performer at Troy University in Troy, Ala. He is currently ranked 47th in the country.
