Barrington Police Chief Michael Correia will ride in this year’s Police Unity Tour, an event that raises awareness about law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty and also raises money for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum.

The 2024 Police Unity Tour will take place over four days — May 9 to 12. It will include nearly 2,000 riders from all over the country who will ride approximately 300 miles over the four-day span, from Essex County, NJ to Washington, DC. Chief Correia will be riding with the Rhode Island contingent.

Chief Correia recently finished his 37th year as a law enforcement officer, and during that span he has worked with five officers who died in the line of duty.

"I'm riding to honor Sgt. Steven M. Shaw (1994), Sgt. Cornel Young Jr. (2000), Det. Sgt. James L. Allen (2005), Sgt. Maxwell R. Dorley (2012), and Sgt. Gino Caputo (2021),” said Chief Correia.

Anyone interested in donating to this cause can go to the Police Unity Tour website: policeunitytour.com and access the “Donate” tab, scroll the “Participants” drop down box, and select “Michael Correia – Rhode Island”.

"All donations are very much appreciated, thank you,” Chief Correia said.
