Eagles capture first place at Casco Bay Open

Posted

On Saturday, Sept. 22 four members of the Barrington High School sailing team kicked off the fall season by traveling to Portland, Maine to compete in the Casco Bay Open.

The Eagles dominated the day with Chip Kreuzkamp and Kaleigh Morgan winning A Division and Joe Wicker and Olin Guck winning B Division.

Against 18 schools, Barrington finished the day in first place overall with a whopping 42-point lead over the second place team, securing an entry at the Atlantic Coast Championship.

The regatta was one of four New England qualifiers for the Atlantic Coast Championship at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. on Nov. 10 and 11.

The Barrington High School sailing team is building off of last year’s success and is now up to 24 sailors. Coached by Dennis Kloc, the team practices at the Barrington Yacht Club.
