Barrington schools' finance director is retiring

The director of finance and administration for Barrington Schools is retiring.
Ron Tarro recently shared that information with other school officials, and the action will be announced at the Barrington School Committee meeting tonight, July 13.
Barrington Superintendent of Schools Michael Messore said Mr. Tarro is eligible for retirement and will be missed when he steps down. His last day of work is slated for Friday, Aug. 11.
"He's one of the most integral parts of running the school system," said Mr. Messore.
Of Mr. Tarro's retirement, Mr. Messore added, "It's like losing my right arm."
Mr. Tarro is involved in many aspects of running the Barrington School Department. In addition to handling the district's annual operating budget, he also plays a key role in construction projects, school transportation issues, and guiding the school committee.
Mr. Messore said Mr. Tarro has an impressive depth of knowledge with numerous school-related issues, ranging far beyond the work of a typical school finance director. He concerns himself with the teaching and learning taking place in Barrington schools, added Mr. Messore.
Mr. Tarro began working for the Barrington School Department in 2001, having previously served in the role of finance director/treasurer for Barrington's municipal government.
