This year's Hampden Meadows School Tough Tiger adventure race will be held on Sunday, May 7. The first heat of racers begins at 12:30 p.m.

Race organizers have been working hard to enhance the obstacle course challenges at the Tough Tiger, and are expecting another large crowd to put their skills to the test. In the past, more than 1,000 people have attended the popular event.

The Tough Tiger covers a 2-mile course, which starts at the school, loops through the nearby neighborhood, the Sowams School campus and along the Hampden Meadows Greenbelt, and finishes back at Hampden Meadows School. There will be 15 obstacles and all geared toward young families.

This year there will also be three food trucks parked at the school — offering everything from gourmet fries to fancy grilled cheese sandwiches and cupcakes.

There will be live entertainment, including performances from School of Rock. And there will also be raffles. All proceeds from the event benefit the school's PTO, and people who bring a non-perishable food donation for Tap-In will receive a free raffle ticket.
