The Barrington High School boys and girls outdoor track teams opened the regular season on Thursday, April 5, and each Barrington team picked up three wins.
The Barrington girls defeated Mt. Hope 89-34, Wheeler 104-22, and St. Raphaels Academy 96-28.
The Barrington boys defeated St. Raphaels 84-59, Mt. Hope 112-27 and Wheeler 112-27.
Boys results
Barrington had a number of strong individual performances. Walter Joachim-Delpoio won the 300 meter hurdles, and Josh Roy was tops in the 110 meter hurdles.
Jack Dunn won the hammer throw event with a distance of 164 feet, 2 inches, and also captured first place in the shot put with a top distance of 32 feet, 7 inches. William Cauley won the discus.
Ben Geoghegan had the best time in 200 meter race with a time of 24.9 seconds.
Girls results
Adeline Quas was one of the many Barrington High School competitors to showcase a stellar performance on Thursday. Quas won the triple jump with a distance of 29 feet, 6.5 inches, and also won the high jump, clearing 4 feet 4 inches.
Faith Polando won the hammer, shot put, and discus. She had a distance of 149 feet, 8 inches in the hammer, 27 feet, 10 inches in the shot, and 82 feet, 8 inches in the discus. Sasha Westrick won the javelin with a throw of 50 feet.
Caroline Livingston was tops in the 800 meter race and the 1,500 meter race. She clocked a 2:31.2 in the 800 and a 5:09.8 in the 1,500. Kate Zitzmann ran to victory in the 3,000 with a time of 11:11.8.
Audrey Gravelle won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 51.8, and Barrington's 4x100 relay team of Olivia Middleton, Gravelle, Abigail Walter and Jillian Walter won with a time of 52.7.
