Barrington woman dies after jump from bridge

On Monday night at 10:30 p.m., Bristol Police received a call of a reported jumper from the Mt. Hope Bridge. When officers arrived, a witness told them they had seen someone jump from the bridge.

Bristol Police and Bristol Fire Marine Units were dispatched and the U.S. Coast Guard was notified. After a search, the victim was located in the waters southeast of Hog Island Light House. The victim was transported to the Church Street dock in downtown Bristol and pronounced deceased.

The Office of the State Medical examiner was contacted and responded. According to Bristol Police, the victim is a 41-year-old female from Barrington.
