The Barrington Youth Soccer Association’s Boys U14 team recently won two tournaments.
The local team celebrated a 2-1 win over Middletown on Father’s Day to win the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament and closed out their season with 2-1 win over St. Michael’s Futbol Club (New Bedford) to win the RI Superliga championship on Saturday at Colt State Park.
Coached by Craig Higginbotham, the team of seventh- and eighth-graders, was led by Captain Ned Shapiro to the victory.
Team members are Stephan Bejger, J.T. Celico, Jason Chan-Zervas, Max Dunn, Sam Faulkner, Luke Furnas, Keagan Gasbarro, Will Giordano, Nate Greenberg, Lucas Jauregui, Ian Jensen, Luke O’Connor (goalie), Liam O’Neal, Nate Schneider, Ned Shapiro, Harry Turner and Aidan and Will Zabriskie.
