The Bayside Stingrays were back in action at the YMCA New England Championship meet held at MIT in Boston last month.   

The 11&12 girls placed ninth while the boys placed fifth; combined for that age group they were seventh place overall.

Zoe Webster led the way with an eighth place finish in 50 fly (28.90), fifth in the 100 free (58.68), and sixth in the 50 free (26.58). Reilly Curran placed 11th in the 200 IM (2:35.86) and Meagan Mungovan placing eighth in 200 free (2:17.29). The girls 200 medley relay finished 11th and the 200 free relay finished eighth. The relay was made up of Zoe Webster, Kristen Baker, Reilly Curran, Meagan Mungovan).  

For the boys, Kellan Lane led the way with a second in the 50 backstroke (29.19), seventh in the 200 IM (2:26.51), and fourth in the 100 back (1:04.82). Lucas Jauregui finished 10th in the 50 back (31.46), and Zack O’Connor was eighth in 200 free (2:13.11). The boys 200 medley relay finished seventh and their 200 free relay finished fifth. The relays were Lucas Jauregui, Georgie Alexandre, Zack O’Connor, Kellan Lane.

Both the 13&14 Bayside boys and girls teams each placed ninth with an overall combined age group finish for 12th place.  

The girls were led by Rachel Baker with a 12th place finish in 50 free (26.58), and an eighth place finish in 100 back (1:04.38). The boys had strong performances from David McMillan in seventh place in the 500 free (5:24.48), Will Sanchez placing 10th in the 50 free (24.52), Jackson Bennett placing 11th in the 100 back (1:01.42), and Andrew Barton 12th in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.54). The girls 200 medley relay placed 12th while the 200 free relay placed seventh (both relays were Rachel Baker, Stella Alexandre, Ellie Wind, Emma DiGiacomo). The boys 200 medley relay placed seventh and 200 free relay placed sixth (both relays were Jackson Bennett, Andrew Barton, Luke Gorham, Will Sanchez).

The 15&over swimmers competed strongly as well with the girls finishing eighth while the boys finished fifth.  Overall combined for that age group they had the highest finish in the past eight years with a third place finish.

Maddy Paine began the scoring with a 10th place finish in 200 free (2:02.15), followed by Wanqing Li finishing 10th in the 100 fly (1:02.18) and ninth in the 100 back (1:01.57). Aidan Lane turned in the top finish for the boys with a second in the 100 fly (53.91) and second in the 100 breast (1:02.46). Right behind him was Ben Vesey second in the 200 IM (2:02.34), third in the 500 free (4:56.48), Ethan O’Connor was fourth in the 50 free (22.42), and fourth in the 100 back (54.08), and Harry Martin was fourth in the 100 breast (1:02.66).  

The girls 200 medley relay and 400 free relays both placed sixth (Wanqing Li, Melanie Baker, Julia Zulker, Maddy Paine). The boys 200 medley relay placed fifth (Aidan Lane, Harry Martin, Henry Ciannavei, Ethan O’Connor) while their 400 Free Relay placed eighth (Ben Vesey, Aidan O’Connor, Henry Ciannavei, Ethan O’Connor).

As a team, the Girls finished 15th overall while the Boys finished 9th. Combined team placing was 11th overall which matched last year's finish. There were more than 70 YMCAs that competed in this championship meet.

They are Georgie Alexandre, Stella Alexandre, Kristen Baker, Melanie Baker, Rachel Baker, Emily Baker, Andrew Barton, Jackson Bennett, Sam Chavez, Henry Ciannavei, Reilly Curran, Emma DiGiacomo, Laurie Garcia, Juliana Goncalves, Luke Gorham, Hunter Hughes, Lucas Jauregui, Aidan Lane, Kellan Lane, Jared Lesk, Luke Li, Wanqing Li, Harry Martin, David McMillan, Andrew Mungovan, Meagan Mungovan, Ethan O’Connor, Zack O’Connor, Maddy Paine, Ainsley Rose, Will Sanchez, Maude Smith-Montross, Lilly Swintak, Olivia Tine, Jeff Tran, Amanda Vesey, Ben Vesey, Zoe Webster, Ellie Wind, George Zhukov, Julia Zulker, Natalie Zulker.
