Eagles improve their record to 4-3

Barrington High School improved to 4-3 with a 9-4 win over North Kingstown on Friday, April 28. Max Thurston led the Eagles' offense with five points — two goals and three assists — while Declan Curry finished with four points on two goals and two assists. Owen Curry netted a goal and had two assists, while Matt Block, Ren LaMotte, Ben Lisle and John Block each scored goals. Ben Sylvester had an assist and Charlie Paras made 13 saves. 

Barrington also defeated Portsmouth 11-7 on Wednesday, April 26. Owen Curry had eight points on four goals and four assists, while Lisle scored two goals and had three assists. Ren LaMotte had two goals and two assists. Declan Curry had a goal and an assist and John Block scored twice, while Matt Bates and Nicholas Bernardo each notched assists. 

Boys' tennis

The Eagles' three doubles teams each scored wins against Mt. St. Charles, but it was not enough at the Mounties knocked off Barrington 4-3 on Monday, May 1. Brian Donahue and Sam Jurgeleit won their match at first doubles, and Dennis Wei and Jim Zang won at second doubles, while Emilio Cuebas and Kevin Zhu captured victory at third doubles. Connor Kelly pushed his match to three sets at third singles before losing. 

The loss to Mt. St. Charles followed a 4-3 win over LaSalle on Friday. Story Salit won his match at second singles and all three doubles teams won their matches in straight sets. Cuebas and Zhu captured their victory with a 6-1, 7-5 score.

The Eagles also defeated East Greenwich last week. Ian Mellen, Salit and Kelly won their singles matches. Jurgeleit and Donahue won at first doubles and Dennis Wei and Matt Brenner won at second doubles.

Boys' volleyball

Barrington dropped three matches last week, losing to North Smithfield (3-1), Toll Gate (3-0) and Lincoln (3-0).

The lost to the Titans, 25-19, 25-18, 25-17, and to the Lions, 25-16, 25-20, 25-11.
