Girls lacrosse defeats Bay View and Cumberland

The Barrington High School softball team improved to 9-1 after winning three games last week — Barrington defeated North Smithfield 7-1, Ponaganset 15-5, and Mt. Hope 12-7. The Eagles trailed Mt. Hope 5-2 after three innings, but exploded for eight runs in the top of the fourth. Kaylee Feather finished with three hits and 6 RBI, while Sydney Parkhurst had five hits and scored three runs.

Girls lacrosse

Barrington improved to 6-2 after winning twice last week. The Eagles defeated Bay View 17-6 on Friday, May 4. Clare Gaffney scored five goals and assisted on three others while Ally Vetromile had three goals and two assists. Tess Gagliano scored four goals and had one assist. 

The Eagles also defeated Cumberland, 19-7, on Tuesday, May 1. Annie Berkery scored four goals and had three assists, whole Gaffney had three goals and five assists. Hope Robertson and Gagliano each netted five goals.

Boys lacrosse

The Eagles defeated North Kingstown, 10-9 on Monday, and improved to 7-2 in the division. Max Thurston scored three times and had two assists, while Ben Lisle netted three goals and Declan Curry had two. Alex Senich made 14 saves. 

On Friday, May 4, Moses Brown defeated Barrington 20-4. Thurston led the Eagles with two goals and an assist. On Tuesday, May 1, Barrington knocked off Cumberland 12-11. Ren LaMotte and Thurston each scored three goals and Curry, Lisle, and Quinn Gaffney each scored twice.

Boys tennis

The Eagles improved to 11-1 after wins over North Kingstown (7-0), Mt. St. Charles (6-1), Smithfield (7-0), and South Kingstown (7-0). Barrington's James Bogdanovic, Owen Voigt, Eric Zhang, and Alex Caizzi each won their singles matches against the Rebels. Conor Mc Gartoll and Connor Kelly won at first doubles, Brian Donahue and Sam Jurgeleit at second doubles and Kevin Zhu and Lucas Johnson at third doubles.
