Biennial Quilt Show in Portsmouth

On Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5, Quilters by the Sea will hold its 17th Biennial Quilt Show, A Bouquets of Quilts. Over 120 quilts, a vendor’s marketplace, raffle baskets, a small quilt silent auction (proceeds to benefit the New England Quilt Museum), and a boutique of member made quilted and handcrafted items, as well as the raffle of our Guild raffle quilt are the highlights of the show.

WHERE: The Pennfield School, 110 Sandy Point Ave., Portsmouth
WHEN: Saturday May 4, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, May 5, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
COST: $8 per person, children under 12 free

Meet our staff
Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
