Big Barrington crowd tames Tough Tiger race

Hundreds of Barrington residents attempted to tame the Tough Tiger adventure race on Sunday, May 3.

The race, which served as a fund-raiser for Hampden Meadows School, drew nearly 800 participants who ran over wooded trails, climbed on cargo nets, jumped through tires and slid through a mud pit en route to the finish line.

Hampden Meadows School Principal Tracey McGee, who wore a tiger costume while completing the course, praised all the people who helped organize and run the event.

"The Tough Tiger Adventure Race could not happen without a great deal of support from the Hampden Meadows community and beyond. We would like to thank all of the many volunteers who gave their time to make this race a success, and all of the generous sponsors of this event," Ms. McGee wrote in an email.
