Bristol PD: Seven arrests, including assault on a senior

Monday, June 12
An injured animal was reported on Hopeworth Avenue at 8:30 a.m.

A deer was reportedly stuck in a fenced in area on Naomi Street at 8:34 a.m.

A Wood Street resident reported at 9:05 a.m. that someone had broken into her home and stolen money.

The Beach House restaurant on Hope Street reported that money had been stolen from the establishment overnight.

John Vieira, 41, of 11 San Juan Dr., Bristol, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. following a report that someone was in a store threatening a cashier. He was charged with one count of disorderly conduct, and was arraigned and released.

Police dispersed a reportedly intoxicated man that was said to be lying down outside the rear of a building on Metacom Avenue at 1:26 p.m.

Fireworks caused multiple callers to report a loud bang on Harbor View Avenue at 9:56 p.m.

Tuesday, June 13
David Pacheco, 31, of 48 Charles St., Apt. #1, Bristol, was arrested on a warrant at Fatima Hospital at 11:10 a.m. He was charged with unlawful breaking and entering (2nd+ offense), larceny in excess of $1,500, and felony conspiracy. He was transported to the ACI.

Four cyclists riding over the Mt. Hope Bridge were advised of bikes not being allowed on the bridge at 3:05 p.m.

Credit card fraud was reported on High Street at 5:37 p.m.

Wednesday, June 14
Valdemiro Loras, 38, of 5 Wilson St., Apt. #3, Bristol, was arrested on a warrant at 9:00 a.m. He was charged with domestic violence (violation of a no contact order, 3rd+ offense).

Police checked Metacom Avenue at 5:34 p.m. for a vehicle with Massachusetts plates matching the description of a stolen vehicle out of Pawtucket. They didn’t locate it.

A Shaws Lane resident reported vandalism to their vehicle at 11:36 p.m.

Thursday, June 15
Aaron Braz, 32, of 9 Francine St., Bristol, was arrested on a warrant at 8:05 a.m. after turning himself in. He was charged with domestic violence (violation of a no contact order, first offense). He was transported to district court.

A caller from Bay View Avenue reported at 9:10 a.m. that a man walking had thrown his coffee at his truck.

Jill Sartini, 30, of 24C Maple Ave., Little Compton, was arrested on a warrant at 9:52 a.m. They were charged with a restraining order violation and was transported to district court.

Joao Gomes, 67, of 529 Metacom Ave., Bristol, was arrested on a warrant at 10:10 a.m. They were charged with the false reporting of a crime and making a fraudulent insurance claim for a stolen vehicle. They were transported to district court.

Police received a report that a juvenile was operating a golf cart on the bike path near Fales Road at 6:09 p.m. but they didn’t find the youngster at the scene.

Friday, June 16
Loud music generated complaints at the Thames Waterside Bar & Grill at 12:24 a.m. and at a party near Hopeworth Avenue and Evelyn Drive at 12:40 a.m. Both parties agreed to turn the music off.

An Old Ferry Road resident reported issues with trash and people being under the bridge at 8:45 a.m.

Adam Loizzo, 43, of 1 Cliff Dr., Bristol, was arrested following an incident on Cliff Drive at 12:42 p.m. He was charged with domestic violence (assault on a person older than 60 causing bodily injury). He was arraigned and transported to the ACI.

Saturday, June 17
A report was logged that someone was digging in the Kickemuit River near Slocum Street at 8:56 a.m. DEM was notified.

Fraud involving a Verizon account was reported on White Tail Drive at 1:00 p.m.

Police dispersed a woman after a verbal argument on Wood Street at 11:25 p.m.

Sunday, June 18
Police responded to an incident that occurred on a RIPTA bus near Hope and Court Streets involving someone using pepper spray at 1:26 a.m.

Portsmouth PD reported they had pulled over a vehicle that supposedly struck a tree in Bristol on Metacom Avenue at 11:03 a.m.

A man wielding a ‘Jesus’ sign was dispersed from Independence Park at 3:52 p.m. after people reported he was harassing them.
