Bristol Police arrest for shoplifting and domestic assault in last week of 2015

The following is a list of Bristol Police Department activity from Monday, Dec. 28 to Thursday, Dec. 31.

Monday, Dec. 28, 2015

At 12:21 p.m. a small leaf fire on a second floor front porch at Church Street was reported. The Bristol Fire Department extinguished the fire and investigated.

At 1:48 p.m. a complainant reported two juveniles on bicycles - one in a black hoodie, one in a grey hoodie – kicking vehicles as they rode by in the area of Naomi Street and Gooding Avenue.

A caller reported a fight between two males in the area of Wood Street and Bradford Street at 6:05 p.m. The caller told police she thought one of the men had a firearm, and one of them wore white and ran south on Wood Street while the other man wore dark clothing and ran north Police did not find anyone matching the descriptions in the area.

At 7:46 p.m. police received a report of a suspicious male wearing a hoodie in the rear of a neighbor’s house on Tupelo Street.

A caller reported suspicious activity on Sea Breeze Lane at 8:32 p.m. regarding a male dressed all in black hiding in the bushes.

Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015

A Gibson Road caller reported being stuck in the snow at 7:14 a.m.

A Robin Drive caller reported a Publisher's Clearing House scam at 1:53 p.m.

A Hopeworth Avenue mother requested police assistance at 4:39 p.m. for her 16-year-old unruly son.

Suspicious activity was reported in the area of Hope Street and Gooding Avenue at 8:39 p.m. regarding a red ford with New Jersey registration headed toward Warren.

Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015

At 10:31 a.m. police arrested Yong Shi Li, 57, of 213 State St., Apt. #C, Bristol, on one count of domestic simple assault/battery.

At 10:36 a.m. a Beach Road caller reported theft of a political sign from the front yard by two females last seen on Peck Avenue. One of the women had red hair and one was blonde. After the sign was returned the complainant decided not to file a report.

A caller reported a cat struck by a car in the area of Metacom Avenue and Griswold Avenue at 12:39 p.m.

At 3:35 p.m. police received a suspicious activity call regarding two unknown males in a field behind a garage. Police found no issues as both men reside at the complex.

A State Street caller reported heavy smoke coming from the chimney of a neighbor’s home at 3:54 p.m. Police discovered the homeowner on the property starting the wood stove.

At 11:54 p.m. police responded to a suspicious activity call from Roger Williams University. A woman was upset about missing the RIPTA bus. Police transported her to the bus stop on the corner of Hope Street and State Street.

Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015

At 9:05 a.m. police received a nuisance complaint from Cottage Street regarding a landlord/tenant dispute in which the tenant said the landlord did not give her sufficient notice for a visit.

A Bay View Avenue caller reported reported a slashed tire at 10:13 a.m.

At 12:16 p.m. police received a shoplifting report from Seabra Supermarket on Hope Street. Police arrested Fernanda Almeida, 64, of 18 Wilson St., Apt. #2, Bristol on one misdemeanor count of shoplifting.

A neighbor dispute was reported from Narrows Road at 2:34 p.m.

A Metacom Avenue caller reported noises coming from the lower level of the condo at 8:49 p.m.

A Richmond Avenue caller requested the removal of an unwanted party from her room at 11:09 p.m.

A Scott Lane caller requested the removal of an unwanted party from the home at 11:12 p.m.
